EDUSS ANNOUNCES ALLIANCE WITH THE PENDULUM FOUNDATION

EDUSS announces alliance with Pendulum Foundation to promote the EDUSS groundbreaking solution for intake and remediation of juvenile prisoners in English and Math.

DENVER, CO - November 7, 2006 - EDUSS, a leading international developer of Math, English and Phonics Software for K-12 schools, is pleased to announce an alliance with the Pendulum Foundation, a juvenile justice non-profit organization, to promote breakthrough learning solutions for children behind bars.

The Pendulum Foundation believes in second chances and is committed to educating the public about the issues surrounding children convicted and sentenced as adults.  The Pendulum Foundation is also committed to taking groundbreaking programs and projects into the prisons that will help incarcerated youth survive and thrive, as well as transform the lives of young prisoners re-entering society and at-risk youth. The goal is to ensure – whether inside or outside of prison - happy, healthy, well-adjusted and productive adults.

The EDUSS Integrated Multidimensional Teaching Assistant will be a step up and a way out for these young people.  The EDUSS IMTA can be applied for diagnostic intake in Math and English, regardless of the prisoner’s chronological age or grade level, and can be readily adapted to determine skill levels and progress of youth offenders who are currently incarcerated.

The EDUSS IMTA is able to take this application even beyond the assessment level by automatically producing an individualized tutorial for each and every person based on the prescriptive diagnosis of the assessment, giving each student a true 1:1 teacher to student learning platform.  Since the entire learning components of lessons, homework, automated tutorials and reporting are all integrated into one system - teachers, caseworkers, counselors, parents and even mentors can meaningfully and successfully support the progressive learning of the student, regardless of the level at which they enter the system.  And when the prior offenders re-enter society, they can take their EDUSS software with them to support them in their future learning initiatives.

EDUSS Chief Executive Officer, Theo Scherman, developed the initial model for the software after working with incarcerated youth in South Africa.

“We believe EDUSS is a pivotal and breakthrough learning solution for incarcerated youth to learn, grow and thrive.  We are very pleased to introduce EDUSS to our friends, foundation and community to provide a remarkable new opportunity for insuring these young people too, are not left behind.”  Mary Ellen Johnson, Pendulum Foundation Executive Director.
